If the merchant is smart, he or she will likely grant your request rather than lose you as a valuable affiliate. Don’t be shy about requesting additional commissions, what is the worst that can happen? Just make sure your request is reasonable.

As an affiliate, you can make a small income just by managing PPC campaigns such as Google AdWords and others. Make sure you monitor them to determine which ads are most effective and which ones you should eliminate.
