It is great to have an online business, but it takes work to make it a success. The thing that most Internet marketers work hardest at is traffic. Without traffic, there is no business. An increase in traffic means an increase in sales. Increased sales translate into increased profits. Following is a list of 7 ways to increase sales for your new online business:
1. Build your own list. Develop a page where people can subscribe to your list. Then send email to them on a regular basis with products that you are recommending.
2. Enter into joint ventures with other list owners. If you don’t have your own list, enter into an agreement with others and give them a portion of the profits on all sales.
3. Pay other webmasters to send your mailing to his list. This can work quite well if the list is related to your target market.
4. Write articles and submit them to the largest article directories. In each article, include two or three links to websites or products that you are recommending. This is my favorite form of generating traffic and it works very well.
5. Place ads on your own website or blog. The most effective way to do this is by placing your ads on every page of your site for every product that your are recommending.
6. Pay webmasters of related sites to place ads for your products on his (or her) site.
7. Buy advertising. Paid advertising can be very effective if you can develop catchy ads. You can use ezine ads, pay-per-click ads, and classifieds to name just a few.

Whether you realize it or not, making a purchase is an emotional activity. The way you feel is an emotional response. A few examples of the emotional responses are: happy, sad, cozy, secure, etc.
You bought that super-sized TV because it makes you happy. Sitting on that sofa is so comfortable and cozy. The car you are considering will impress the neighbors. People buy things to satisfy their emotional needs.
Some words or phrases cater to these emotional needs more than others. Use these emotional trigger words in your titles, ads, emails, and sales pages to encourage people to buy. As proof, from which ad below would you prefer to purchase:

2. Use the word "guaranteed". It is reassuring to know that they are not risking their money buying a product that they won't like. They like to have some recourse if they are not happy.
