Writing an ebook is a great way to make money online. Although there are millions of people who make money this way, there are millions of others who commit significant time and effort developing a great product, but fail to generate any sales at all. This can be very discouraging.

Collectors and hobbyists are also big ebook buyers. If you are knowledgeable in this area and have an interesting angle, you may have a best seller on your hands. Collectors and hobbyists are very active buyers if you can find the right topic.

There are many digital products available on the Internet today; ebooks, audio files, video, etc. Digital products represent a very large market on the Internet; billions of dollars in sales are transacted every year.

These products are not tangible, that is, you cannot touch, hold, see, or feel them. They exist only as a file on your computer. Many business owners add a picture of what the product would look like if it were a tangible item. This representation is called an ecover.

But is an ecover really necessary? Although it is not an absolute necessity, a good ecover will dramatically increase sales. If you don’t believe me, consider all of those catalogs that you get in the mail. They are filled with pretty pictures of the products they carry. The use of pictures significantly increases the number of sales they generate.

Still not convinced? Consider this example; Let’s say that you are interested in buying a coat online. You go to the Coats Galore online website and look at a number of possible candidates. Listed among the coats for sale is an entry without a picture. The written description says that the coat is made of blue wool, has a zipper down the front, and comes with a hood. If the price was similar to other coats, do you think that you would buy it? Probably not. They would sell very few of these coats without a picture.

That is why it is recommended that you use an ecover. People want to see what they are buying. It provides a level of comfort even though they know that it is only a representation of what they are buying. A good ecover will significantly increase sales, so make sure you add a good ecover when selling your digital products.

Ebooks are a great way to make money online. All of the big Internet Guru’s sell them. This alone should tell you something. Many people think that writing an ebook is too hard. But it doesn’t have to be. If this is your first attempt at writing an ebook, start out small. Begin by writing a short five to ten page ebook. Making My First Million on the Internet

Like many of you, I began my Internet business full of hope and optimism. I planned on making my first million within a year or two. At that point, I’d tell my boss what he could do with his job! We’d get that house on the beach and the black Jaguar we always wanted. Ahhh, life will be good!

Having no idea how an Internet business worked, I did some research. The information I learned, enticed me to buy three or four ‘How to Make Millions’ programs. In addition, to further my studies, I joined list after list to increase my knowledge. Soon, my email box was stuffed every day with more and more ‘Get Rich Quick’ offers. Because I’m a slow learner, I bought a couple of these programs and again, I lost money. I was beginning to think that Internet businesses were nothing but scams. Not only did I NOT make my million dollars, I was losing money left and right trying to get rich using worthless programs!

By this time, I’d been in business for a couple of months and already I was out a thousand dollars. And to make matters worse, I’d only made about $25 in profits. At about this time, I finally figured it out; it’s not really possible to get rich quick (unless you’re very lucky). There had to be a better way!

I did more research (and this time, I did not visit sales pages). I investigated how the most successful Internet entrepreneurs made money. I found out that almost all of the most successful gurus’s have their own products to sell. Most of them use digital products and they depend heavily on affiliate programs to make their money. They get hundreds, or even thousands of us to sell their products for them. And each time an affiliate makes a sale, they make money.

So I set out to copy their efforts and develop my own product. Not being a writer, I needed a way to get my ebook written by someone else. And I needed to get it done by spending as little money as possible. I developed 3 methods to get others to write my ebook for me. Two of those methods are absolutely free. I started my own affiliate program and within a day, people were joining my program. Within 4 days, some of the affiliates were beginning to generate sales. And I was making money! Not millions, but a few dollars here and a few dollars there. Soon, I was making money on a consistent basis. During my third month, I made almost 500 dollars. It wasn’t a million, but that is the real way to make money on the Internet.

I took meticulous notes on every aspect of my plan and documented the entire process. I wanted to make sure that others could duplicate my techniques. I put these notes into a file for future reference. Two months ago, I found my original notes and developed them into an ebook. If you want to make money on the Internet, forget the ‘Get Rich Quick’ schemes, they don’t work. The real money on the Internet is made by developing your own product and starting an affiliate program.

Using Joint Ventures for Big Profits AND List Building

A joint venture (jv) is an agreement between two or more parties or businesses. By finding a few joint venture partners who like your product and have big lists in your niche, you can increase you income overnight. Some JV’s make thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars. Be specific in your initial offer; tell them the retail price and normal conversion rates. Tell them what percentage they’ll get and what price their subscribers will pay. You only have one email to gain their interest. Do the research and prep work; it will be worth your while.

By doing this on a regular basis, you are bound to find good partnership opportunities. And after you’ve completed the first one, you will be anxious to do more.
