A forum is a place where like minded people gather and share ideas, ask questions, get information, and sometimes just vent their frustrations. There are forums related to almost every niche available. The first step in developing a successful forum marketing campaign is to locate forums that are related to your business. This is easily done by doing an online search. Following are 5 techniques to assure success:

1. Find a number of related forums, then register and complete your profile with each one. To maximize your success, you should register with at least 3 to 5 different ones. Make sure you fill out a signature file that includes a link back to your website. This signature file will be automatically added to the bottom of every post or reply you enter. This is a key ingredient to your forum marketing success.

2. It is important to add posts and replies on a regular basis. I recommend that you enter 5 to 8 posts each day on each of the forums you registered with.

3. Post only good solid information. Give valid answers in your replies and ask relevant questions. This will enhance your reputation and you will come to be seen as an expert in the field. When you do this over time, people will be more likely to click on your links.

4. Never spam. Replying with “Nice post,” to 10 different threads will do nothing but destroy your reputation. It is one of the easiest ways to get ignored by other members or worse yet, banned from the administrator.

5. Make sure your signature fill appears in every post. This is extremely important and it the way you will direct people to your website, especially if your post impresses them.

Writing is only half the job for an effective article marketing campaign. The other half is submitting them to good article directories. Article marketing provides you with a number of benefits; it can bring traffic to your site, generate valuable backlinks to attract the search engines, and produce profits. But in order to accomplish these goals, you need to submit your articles to quality submission sites.

First of all, make sure that the sites you are submitting to are getting traffic. New directories spring up everyday and these new sites get very little traffic at first. I am frequently solicited by start-up directories asking me to submit articles to their sites. By submitting to sites that get plenty of traffic, you can be assured that people will see your articles and click on your links.

If you are just introducing a new web site, you should submit articles to as many directories as possible. Each article should contain a link back to your site. The search engines see the large number of links pointing to your site and reward it accordingly.

In order to maximize the number of links that you get with your article marketing campaign, submit your articles to at least 150 sites. This is most easily done using some sort of article submission software. Getting your article out to 150 directories manually could take you 6 to 8 hours. Using submission software can reduce this time down to just an hour or two.

Are Ecovers Really Necessary?

There are many digital products available on the Internet today; ebooks, audio files, video, etc. Digital products represent a very large market on the Internet; billions of dollars in sales are transacted every year.

These products are not tangible, that is, you cannot touch, hold, see, or feel them. They exist only as a file on your computer. Many business owners add a picture of what the product would look like if it were a tangible item. This representation is called an ecover.

But is an ecover really necessary? Although it is not an absolute necessity, a good ecover will dramatically increase sales. If you don’t believe me, consider all of those catalogs that you get in the mail. They are filled with pretty pictures of the products they carry. The use of pictures significantly increases the number of sales they generate.

Still not convinced? Consider this example; Let’s say that you are interested in buying a coat online. You go to the Coats Galore online website and look at a number of possible candidates. Listed among the coats for sale is an entry without a picture. The written description says that the coat is made of blue wool, has a zipper down the front, and comes with a hood. If the price was similar to other coats, do you think that you would buy it? Probably not. They would sell very few of these coats without a picture.

That is why it is recommended that you use an ecover. People want to see what they are buying. It provides a level of comfort even though they know that it is only a representation of what they are buying. A good ecover will significantly increase sales, so make sure you add a good ecover when selling your digital products.
